It’s sad to know that a book about becoming a real bro is ever in need to be written in this century. The modern society has made rules about how to be a certain gender and it certainly does nothing but limiting one to connect with others. The author writes “..many people out there have wrongly labeled human qualities as exclusively feminine qualities”.
As a counsellor working for mental health care, I have recommended and would definitely recommend this book to a friend, a brother, a colleague, a client or to anyone from all ages and all genders. I applaud the author to write this book as an easy read, heart-warming and more importantly relatable. If you like this book, I would recommend reading other books that the author has read such as “Breaking the Male Code” and “When Boys Become Boys”.
Lastly, my fav line from this book: “A bro is not just a wingman, a casual hang-out, or a drinking buddy”. Read this book and let’s be a REAL bro for once!

The Real Bro Code tackles, head on, much of the social stigmas surrounding male relationship. It does so in a way that is impactful and relatable. The chapters are short, quick reads, but offer opportunities for practical reflection and purposeful implementation of the topics discussed. As a young adult, heavily involved in peer leadership and mentorship, I’d recommend this book to anyone who wants to be a better friend, brother or just person in general. Relationship is the basis of meaningful connection, and this book teaches the reader how to be better at it.

This book normalises brotherhood and the value in male friendships. It’s a mesh of conversation and questions for the reader to reflect on. It’s a page turner and even though you can read it in one sitting, it’s a book you’ll always want to go back to, one that you want to devour slowly over time as it provokes challenging healthy actions to better relationships.
It’s definitely a must buy for all the guys in my life!

Kim writes about something I think challenges a lot of my views of brotherly friendship, but also reminds me of things I have forgotten to do that would really be beneficial to do in a friendship.
I love the fact that after each chapter, there are questions to reflect on and action steps to take, which helps to make everything he writes more applicable, which is great!
In short and many chapters, Kim has brought a lot of principles and topics of friendships between bros to light, and I think it’s an important book to read for many.

The Real Bro Code lays a good foundation to build strong, healthy friendships.
The chapters are bite-sized and I easily read them by the middle of my morning coffee or before my bus arrived at my destination. There are always thought-provoking questions to consider as well. These aren’t just ideas to read and think, “well that’s kinda cool”, but they’re tools that we can apply to our friendships and get results.
Five stars. I will be recommending this/gifting this to some of my bros.

The Real Bro Code spoke to the work I do as a teacher and as a coach and I’m always trying to help my guys through emotions and what it means to be a true brother to those they are friends with and The Real Bro Code will help greatly with influencing their thinking on their bros – and personally with my best friend who I’ve kind of drifted from – I think it’s time to really reconnect and this book will help bring the figurative and actual distance between us a little closer – amazing read on true brotherhood and creating healthy masculinity – a definite must have for teachers and coaches and all the brothers out there

I find the book interesting, good, and worth my money! There should be some code written for women friendships as well! 🙂

This book was great. As someone who struggles socially, especially with other guys, this book was really helpful. Male friendships (deep ones) need to be discussed more, and this book shows you how to be a true friend.

This book is a story book, guide, and workbook that if followed will enrich guy’s relationships. Much needed. Thought provoking. Encouraging us to focus on the most important thing in our lives- FULFILLING, HONEST, HIGH VALUE RELATIONSHIPS. Take the time to read this. Short chapters. Thought provoking questions. Easy to apply in our daily lives. Thanks Kim!

This was a wonderful book! I love how Kim is very down to Earth and honest about his perceptions and experiences. He discusses the matter in a very casual, informal way that most authors don’t. He says a lot of things that guys I know are too afraid to say. I consider this book a “must” for anyone wanting to research this topic.
Luke –
As cheesy as it might sound, The Real Bro Code is really a life changing book! It opened my eyes to both the strengths and the weaknesses in my friendships. The questions to reflect on highlighted things I love about my friendships and relationships, while still helping me think critically about them and giving me concrete examples of things I can do to deepen my friendships or be more supporting for my bros. The book also addresses the whole lot of stigmas around men’s relationships, and I believe everyone can benefit from being a part of that conversation.
So even if you think your friendships are perfect (but especially if you struggle with them) I’d encourage you to pick up a copy of The Real Bro Code. It’s a fun, compelling, and informative read!

The first thing that striked me as I dived into the book, was that Kim made this easy for me. Easy to read, easy to understand and easy to relate. He writes in an informal and refreshing way about difficult, and in some cases almost taboo subjects (have you ever really given a bro a real heartfelt hug, or given him comfort?) I know I got issues when it comes to friendships, and it became very clear as I read, where it hurts, and why I do what I do. Specially the questions after each chapter, gave me several insights and revelations about my self and my bros.
I can feel Kims heartfelt desire. As he shares from his personal experiences and hardship, he shows how vulnerable and afraid we really are. I think we all want to have real authentic friendships, but we don`t know how. The Real Bro Code is giving us all we need to come closer to our bros, which also means coming closer to ourselves. Thank you Kim.

The Real Bro Code is an inspiring book about men’s friendship. The different topics in the book gives you new perspectives on how men can connect as friends on a deeper level. This really challenges me personally to make an effort to invest more in friendships, especially being responsible in close friendships. Thank you Kim for writing this book!
